PERSONALITY::LIGHT:: Andrew is a very light hearted person nearly everyday of the year. There's not much that gets under his nerves and he can take a joke as long as its not meant to offend. His light hearted attitude isn't an act to cover up some deep seeded emotional turmoil, though he's had his fair share of that after his parents deaths when he was sixteen years old. Although there isn't a constant smile on his face its really easy to make Andrew smile and laugh and he finds nearly every joke funny, especially if they're stupid and make no sense what so ever.
EMOTIONAL:: Alright, so just because he's a dude doesn't mean he's hard. While he's gotten use to the fact that his parents are dead he still has a hard time actually thinking about them. There are certain things, especially in Friendship, that trigger his memories of his parents, and while he won't cry (especially in public) Andrew will shut down and get kind of melancholy. He doesn't like it when people cry in front of him because he gets this horrible urge to do the same and even though he won't, just the thought of crying is disgusting for him.
SARCASTIC:: Andrew is not above sarcasm in any sense of the word. While his sarcasm is mostly light and he never means for it to be hurtful, he does have the tendency to overuse it. There are certain types of people that receive the brunt of his sarcasm more than others; people who ask stupid and obvious questions and people who obviously don't think before asking questions. However, when he's with his friends he'll usually just give them a sarcastic answer or a look and then laugh about it afterward.
TRUST:: Trust is a pretty big deal with Andrew and it always has been, but its become more so since he went to live with his grandparents. While he doesn't necessarily trust people right off the bat, not anymore at least, Andrew is a very trustworthy person. One can assume correctly that if they tell Andrew something in confidence then it will never be revealed, even if he's angry, and he expects the same from the people that he knows. However, for Andrew to trust someone is difficult and he won't usually reveal key details about his past or his feelings for a while. HISTORY::January seventh, 1991 was a day of some anticipation for Melissa and Roger Zimmerman. According to the doctor's dates from previous appointments their baby was nearly three days past due, though everyone knows the dates are only an estimate. In an effort to calm her nerves Melissa was doing the dishes when she felt something liquid dripping down her legs and at first she thought that she had just spilled dishwater down her front. That, however, wasn't the case. Roger had just come up the driveway from buying ice cream and a couple other items that his wife had been craving when she came rushing out the door, diaper bag in hand and one hand on her belly, yelling something about it being time to go.
When they got to the hospital it was eerily quiet and they were some of the only people inside. They were rushed into a room and on January seventh at 11:32 PM their son was born. Melissa had been a school teacher before her pregnancy and after Andrew was born she decided that she wasn't going to go back, at least not for a few years, which was fine with Roger. Roger was a business man who ran an online distributing company and while the job took him to New York City for a week at a time every month, he was home quite often and therefore both parents managed to spend a lot of time with their child. The money that Roger made from his company was enough to allow the family to live comfortably and allowed for Andrew to be somewhat spoiled, though for the most part he didn't seem to show any outward signs of expecting to get everything he ever asked for.
Andrew was very curious while he was growing up and the minute that he learned how to crawl he was getting into small places and trying to get to areas he didn't belong. When he could walk it seemed only to get worse and suddenly Andrew was climbing on things. He wasn't allowed to go up the stairs on his own, but when he three years old Andrew decided that he would do so anyway and began making his way up the stairs, using his hands for extra support. He had only made it up five steps when he lost his balance and took a tumble down, ending with him getting a broken arm. His curious attitude never really disappeared, but the older he got the more contained it seemed to be. In elementary school there was a tree that everyone climbed on and Andrew decided to give it a whirl. He made it up quite alright and soon it became a normal hangout spot for himself and his friends. In fourth grade he was once again up that same tree and it was during winter and a few kids decided to run past and pelt everyone in the tree with ice covered in snow. Andrew was knocked off his perch and landed on an uncovered root on the ground, causing him to receive a large gash on his left hip which then scarred over. To this day he tends to tell people that he got it from a fight, not from falling out of a tree.
Middle school was relatively average for Andrew; he still had all of his old friends, but it was also a big time for him because his mother decided to go back to teaching again, which meant that Andrew was going to have a couple of hours to himself in the house during the week that his father was gone. He used the time wisely, knowing that he had to get all of his homework done, and so he would do it quickly and then immediately turn on his video games, playing them until his mother got home. During the time that his father was home times were different. Andrew would often get away with leaving his homework for a few hours and his father would either play video games with him or they would go in the back and play football, depending on what the weather allowed for. In seventh grade Andrew got his first girlfriend, and while the relationship only last for a couple of months Andrew felt that he had reached manhood...and before any of his friends. His father's business was beginning to expand and he was spending more and more days in New York, which meant that Andrew was spending more time alone in the house.
The transition from middle school to high school was uneventful and nothing exciting ever seemed to happen to him. In his sophomore year of high school he had a massive growth spurt, sending him to reach a height of six feet in just a couple of months, and he was one of the tallest kids in school. He had just turned sixteen when his parents gave him the best news of his life. Andrew was going to have the house to himself for a whole week while his parents were at a charity event in New York and to say that he was excited would have been an understatement. He promised not to have parties or do anything completely stupid and Andrew kept that promise, only having two or three of his friends over during the week. Four days after his parents left, on a Sunday, Andrew and a couple of friends were sitting in his house watching a football game when the doorbell rang. He wasn't expecting anyone so Andrew was more than a little confused, and when he opened the door he found two men in black suits and his grandparents on his mothers side on the doorstep. There were solemn looks on his grandparents faces and it didn't take a lot for him to realize that something horrible had happened to his parents.
His friends were sent home and Andrew was told that his parents had been in a fatal car accident while driving back their hotel from a charity event. Because he was only sixteen he couldn't live alone and was therefore sent to live with his grandparents in Dallas, Texas. His grandfather, Peter Carter, owned an oil factory and they were quite a bit richer than his own parents had been. Unfortunately they were quite a bit more strict also. The first couple of months had been difficult and it seemed as though his grandparents were allowing him to settle into a new place and school before laying down the law. Andrew didn't really make new friends and while he wouldn't have described himself as one of the "emo" kids, he wasn't nearly as popular as he had been in his own hometown. His grandmother began controlling nearly every aspect of his appearance, forcing him to cut his shaggy hair and where clothes that were considered to be "respectable" clothes. He hated every aspect of it, but rebelling against the two people who had taken him in had never crossed his mind as a real option.
In his senior year Andrew was still somewhat of an emotional wreck, but he was slowly starting to come out of his shell and just before Christmas of that year he found himself a girlfriend. It took him a couple of months but he managed to let her in enough that he felt comfortable about talking to her about his parents and what he hated about living with his grandparents. She was supportive, which was nice, and Andrew was relatively sure that he was completely falling in love with her. After graduation they spent a month talking about moving from Dallas together and Andrew desperately wanted to go home to Silver City, Virginia. When he finally made up his mind to leave for home he asked his girlfriend to go with and was devastated to learn that she no longer wanted to go with him. He was willing to work around it, saying that he would be willing to stay in Dallas if that was what she wanted, but she informed him that she was going to Hollywood to try her hand at acting and that she no longer wanted to be his girlfriend. It was a rather cold break-up and Andrew ended up leaving Dallas by himself and to Silver City, Virginia.
He spent a couple of weeks with a friend while he found a job and his own place to stay and he's been living in Silver City again for a year. Since then he's surrounded himself with friends and has managed to almost completely return to his old personality and he's nearly forgotten about his last ex, though the repercussions of her breakup have made him more cautious. He visits his parents grave every Saturday without fail and stays for at least a couple hours, though he's been known to stay for nearly all day depending on his mood.
